33kV & 6.6kV Protection Relay Upgrade – Sinjar Cement Plant
Engineering, programming, testing and recommissioning of protection systems for medium-voltage switchgear and associated transformers.
Complete configuration, functional testing and validation of protection relays for 33kV and 6.6kV systems. Control logic of the switchgear was reviewed, modified and optimized to ensure safe coordination, reliability and compliance with operational requirements.

Major Overhaul – Hyundai 7.5 MW Engine | KAR Najaf
Major corrective maintenance and restoration of generating unit following catastrophic overspeed incident.
The engine suffered extensive damage due to overspeed during improper starting procedures performed without adequate commissioning controls. Wahaj Alkahlaa executed a comprehensive mechanical and electrical recovery program, including diagnostics, repair, calibration and operational verification.

Electrical & Control Systems Implementation – Khor Al-Zubair Oil Berth
Execution of electrical works and integrated control systems for oil berth infrastructure
Full deployment of electrical installations, cabling, control integration and commissioning activities required for operational readiness of port facilities.

Protection System Calibration & Testing – Al Kufa Cement Plant
Calibration, verification, and functional testing of protection equipment supporting the generating facility.
Wahaj Alkahlaa carried out comprehensive calibration and performance testing of the station’s protection systems. Activities ensured accurate operation, coordination of protective functions, and readiness of the diesel generation assets for safe and reliable service.

Operational Mode Upgrade – Al Kufa Diesel Power Station
Modification of plant operating philosophy to enable both island operation and synchronized parallel operation with the utility grid.
Wahaj Alkahlaa reconfigured the control and protection logic of the power station to support flexible operation under independent generation (island mode) as well as grid-parallel conditions. The project included system adjustments, synchronization readiness, testing, and validation to ensure stable and secure performance in both configurations.

Unit: No. 7
Unit 7 Installation & Synchronization – KAR Cement Plant
Complete installation, commissioning, start-up and synchronization of the generating unit, including civil, mechanical and electrical works.
Wahaj Alkahlaa executed full project delivery for Unit 7, covering erection activities, system integration, pre-commissioning checks and operational start-up. Following successful commissioning, the unit was synchronized with existing engines to ensure stable load sharing and coordinated plant performance.

Plant Operation & Maintenance – KAR Cement Plant
Provision of operation services and long-term maintenance support for the plant’s power generation assets.
Wahaj Alkahlaa assumed responsibility for maintenance activities beginning in 2019, followed by full operational management from mid-2021. The assignment covered supervision of generation equipment, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring continuous and safe plant operation.

PLC Support Services – Um Qasr LPG Terminal (Phase 2)
Provision of PLC engineering and technical support services for terminal operations.
Wahaj Alkahlaa delivered specialized PLC support to ensure stable and reliable operation of automation systems within the LPG export infrastructure. Activities included diagnostics, system assistance, signal verification, and operational continuity support aligned with site requirements.
